Túath Consulting is an experienced network of cross-functional subject matter experts across a broad spectrum of technical disciplines. Our focus on the field of digital assets, also known as cryptocurrency, builds on our experience in financial crime investigation, anti-money laundering/counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) compliance, cybercrime capacity building, international cooperation, and needs assessment reporting.
During sixteen years in the public sector, Paul spent the majority of his career in international cooperation, specializing in financial crime, fugitives, anti-money laundering, intellectual property crime, and counter-terrorism investigation. While working on a major innovation project aimed at integrating Irish national systems with the rest of Europe, he worked with project development and design, with responsibility for Data Protection Impact Assessment and e-Learning.
In 2019, Paul graduated with a First-Class honors MSc in Forensic Computing and Cybercrime Investigation. His dissertation investigated the use of blockchain-based Ricardian contracts to improve international mutual legal assistance for the purposes of electronic evidence exchange. He also holds a BA in Administration of Justice and a Post Graduate Diploma in Conflict and Dispute Resolution.
Paul has worked across the globe and collaborated with over 100 countries in the field of transnational law enforcement. In recent years he has worked with a range of startups in the financial crime compliance field, with a focus on blockchain analytics and cryptocurrencies. Paul has developed expertise in expanding on-chain intelligence via a range of processes, some of which he pioneered in the blockchain intelligence space. He has been published by Thomson Reuters and ACAMS Today for his research on cryptocurrency and the risks associated with the industry.
